ASK: Coming Soon

In his most recent blog (read here), Phill challenges believers to welcome, relish and ask those tough questions of Scripture and of God, confident that those who seek truth will find it in Him.

This is the heart which underpins ASK, a weekly vodcast/podcast which will be launched at firwood.church from the 1 April 2009. The idea behind ASK is that anyone and everyone is invited to email in those tough questions and topics that have been troubling you. It might be that you have been wrestling with a difficult passage of Scripture or have been confronted with an unfamiliar and uncomfortable doctrine. Perhaps you are facing some life issue and you are unsure how best to respond. Maybe there is some prominent issue in the news that raises a million questions.

Already we plan to tackle tough questions, such as: how should Christians view the current debate regarding assisted suicide and is it okay for Christians to get a tattoo?

ASK is your opportunity to ask these questions and a whole lot more. Each episode a Pastor from Firwood Church will seek to answer your questions in a way which is both Biblical and helpful. And this really is the heart of what we are about. At Firwood Church we truly believe that Scripture is the very word of God and as such it is reliable, relevant, useful and the very standard of truth.

This is what the Apostle Paul means when he writes that,

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Our aim with ASK is to challenge you to think deeply about Christ, Scripture and the life He calls us to lead. We pray that this resource will be Christ-exalting, useful and fun… in that order.

So we would encourage you to email your questions to: ask@firwood.church and we hope to see you on the 1 April 2009.
