Songs of Ascent V – The Lord my Rescuer (Psalm 124)

The Songs of Ascent are a collection of Psalms (running from Psalm 120 through to Psalm 135) which pilgrims sang as they travelled towards Jerusalem and up to the temple. In Psalm 124, the Psalmist takes us through the travails which assailed the Israelites and celebrates the Living God as Rescuer of his people.

In the fifth part of this fifteen part series, Ronnie Evans asks how Christians today are able to overcome the problems and difficulties inherent in 21 century living, the snares and difficulties which can entrap Christians and turn them away from the Living God. Through Psalm 124 we see that despite all difficulties and dangers, God is on our side and is our ever present help.
