Songs of Ascent II – The Lord my Keeper (Psalm 121)

The Songs of Ascent are a collection of Psalms (running from Psalm 120 through to Psalm 135) which pilgrims sang as they travelled towards Jerusalem and up to the temple. In Psalm 121, the Psalmist faces a difficult and dangerous journey confident that the living God is both his Helper and Keeper.

In the second of a fifteen part series, Andy Evans asks how, as believers, should we respond to difficulty, opposition and danger? We see that this Psalm reassures us that we can be confident that God, Creator of heaven and earth, is both our Defender and Champion and challenges us to come to Him who is able to keep us from falling: Christ Jesus, Shepherd and Overseer of our souls.
